The finishes, one at a time
These are not variations on paint. Each one is a different material worked a different way, and each behaves differently on a wall you have to live with.
Venetian plaster
Also called polished plaster, Marmorino, stucco veneziano
Lime-based plaster applied in thin layers and burnished back to a polished surface. The depth comes from the layers, which is why a photograph never quite shows what it looks like standing in the room.
Where it works: Entryways, powder rooms, feature walls, and wine cellars. Anywhere one surface is meant to hold your attention.
Nothing goes on a wall until you have seen it on a board
A decorative finish cannot be sampled from a fan deck. Colour, sheen, and the amount of movement in the surface all change with the light in your room and with how many passes the material gets.
So we make sample panels, leave them in the actual room, and adjust until one of them is right. That happens before any wall is touched and before you commit to the job.

What decorative work costs
Decorative work is quoted per project, because the cost sits in the hand labour and the material rather than the room. A sample panel is made and approved before any wall is touched.
