Grind
Diamond grinders open the pores in the slab. Sealed or power-troweled concrete has a closed surface and coating cannot key into it.
If a quote does not mention grinding the slab, the coating is going onto a closed surface. That is the single most common reason a garage floor peels, and it is worth asking about before you sign anything, with us or with anyone else.
What you end up with
The concrete gets ground, cracks get filled, and the coating goes down in layers. What was the least finished surface in the house ends up being one you would show someone.
